How to Write Compelling Dialogue in a Novel

You know you can't always read the blogs. Sometimes you like to read novels, and you know one thing that all the novels have in common besides not being on a blog? All of them have people talking. Writers call it dialoge.

How to Write Compelling Dialogue

You might think that writing what people talk about to each other would be an even easier job than writing a blog! YOUR WRONG!!!!! #1 writing a blog is not easy. #2, writing talking is even harder than that. That's why people call Edgar Allen Pope and RR George Martins geniuses. They are great at writing what people say. They are so good at it, you will maybe even forget you are reading a book, because you get so caught up in it.

There are many tips to writing good talking, but the most important is:
Before computers, writers like
Herman Melville used typers like this
to help them write.

Never right dialogue with just one person in the room!!!!

It might never cross your mind until you take a novel writing course (like it did for me) that you can't have just one person talking in a room. That's a bad idea and your readers will hate it. Why? Because it's creepy that's why nobody talks to themselves so if you think about it, it just makes sense. It's a very expert way to make your book sound like it was written by one of those experts.

So now I'm going to get back to writing my novel, but now you know about one weird trick to writing talking in your book, thanks to me and my blog!

How to Take Down a Christmas Tree!

It’s that time of year again! You finally have to make good on you’re newyear’s resolution and take down your Christmas tree. But just how to go about it the best way? Lucky for you, I know how to take down a Christmas tree in the best way.

If your tree isn’t fake it is probably getting really dry. I usually prepare my tree for take-down by spritzing it with a spray bottle before hand. Because of fire hazards, it is dangerous to touch a tree with dry needles until you have sprayed it enough to be slightly dripping. Be safe!

Jeez kid, can't you just take down one little Christmas tree
without throwing a fit like a cry babe?

Count the number of ornaments you take off your Christmas tree when it comes down so you know you got them all. Don’t worry if you didn’t count the number you put on you’re tree. As long as the number sounds about right when you get done, your tree is mostly free of Chrissmas ornaments.

Next, take down the lights, but be careful! They may be wet and slippery! Make sure to handle Christmas lights with delicate, loving care so you don’t fracture any of the lights.

Once everything is down, put it in a box, maybe two, and stow it away in your garage or basement or shed. Write down where you put it! There is nothing more bah humbug than trying to set up your Christmas tree and forgetting just where you put your decorations.

Should I Take Down My Christmas Tree?

Many people have questions about taking down their Christmas tree, so it’s natural to wonder if you’re doing the right thing. It is appropriate to take down your Christmas tree at any time if:
  •          You have gotten sick of looking at your tree
  •          You are dissatisfied with any or all of the gifts you received
  •          You are jewish, muslim or another crazy religion
  •          You need the tree stand for another craft project

So now that you know how to take down a Christmas tree, you can get started taking down your Christmass tree. It’s a great tradition that you learned about, thanks to me.
